078 is part of the UK mobile-number range. UK mobiles use prefixes 071–075 and 077–079, with 076 reserved for radiopagers and 070 for personal-numbering services. Mobile numbers follow you between networks under number portability rules introduced in 1999 — so a 077, 078 or 079 number originally allocated to one network may now be on a different one entirely.
